Barnabees Nursery is a unique award winning independent nursery serving many local Primary Schools in Kidderminster, Bewdley and Stourport on Severn. We offer the following sessions - morning 9.15am to 11.45am, afternoon 12.15pm to 2.45pm and full day sessions from 9.15am to 2.45pm for children aged 2 years to school age.
We have free funded places for all 3 and 4 year olds with free taster sessions so you can be sure you have made the right choice. We aim to provide a happy, secure, welcoming environment to build positive partnerships between home and nursery. You can leave your child with confidence, knowing that they are in a loving and safe environment and that we will work very hard with you to ensure that the transition from home to nursery runs as smoothly as possible.
We have created a safe space that emulates the home situation and as the children progress through the nursery we gradually move the balance towards that of a more structured environment in preparation for the transition to school. Every child is allocated a key person on arrival at Barnabees nursery. The key person will form a special bond with that child and their parents/carers so that we are able to really get to know each child individually and therefore we are then able to plan for the individual needs of each of our children. Each child will be given a Learning Journey, these are used by the nursery staff to carefully record and monitor each child's interests and learning processes through observations and assessments and therefore plan for their next stages of development. These documents are readily available to the parents/carers and we actively encourage you to read them regularly and to add to them and amend them as you wish. We ask you to provide photographs and special information such as details of family holidays or special occasions such as weddings or christenings so that we can put these into our planning and then incorporate some role play to scaffold your child's learning and their general knowledge.
The Learning Journeys will be finalised with a comprehensive Early Years Foundation Stage Report written by your child's key person during the last few weeks before your child starts school. This report will be discussed with you and it will then form part of our transition preparations between the nursery and your chosen primary schools and it will be handed over to the reception class teacher during this time.
